ChramberX is a brand that was born out of Thailand and was founded by AeroSpace Engineer graduate (MRIT University, Melbourne), Puttaratorn Ekapun, who was searching for good quality compression socks that also looked good and were priced right; he could not find any. After extensive research and testing, he created his ChramberX socks which aim to fill the gap in the marketplace of compression socks that look good for a lower price point.
Puttaratrorn is also the CEO of Smart Center in Bangkok and his ChramberX project has quickly gained popularity within Thailand, embraced by both men and women cyclists. According to Puttaratorn, "Our socks are unique, there is a compression pad that tighten around the ankle in order to reduce injury and help promote better endurance when out for longer rides. The socks are made by Italian machines using close knitting to get the soft feeling next to the skin," he goes on to say, "Normally a full compression sock needs around 200 needles, however there is a problem with multiple sizing and we wanted a one size sock that can be used by all, this would make it easier for both distributors and retailers to sell. To achieve our objective of one size for all, we needed to reduce the needle count to 144, with addition of yarn around the ankle region to provide more support and lessen chance of injury."
The name ChramberX is actually derived from a combination of aircraft engine components and one of his favourite engine parts is the single one that generates almost all of the total engine power for the aircraft. ChramberX provides Elite cycling socks that have appropriate design elements and high technology for cyclists. It is recommended that these socks are washed by hand and ideally in a washing bag to prolong the life of the socks.
