Daniel Carruthers

Daniel is the founder of Green Monkey and spent the better part of the last decade working in the bicycle industry, mostly in Asia-Pacific. He has a Master of Tourism and a BComm in Marketing Management as well as a BA in Chinese. Daniel has spent many years living in China and speaks Mandarin fluently. It was in China where DJC Media was established by Daniel to help bike industry brands enter China and Asia wide. Before Daniel relocated from China to Rotorua NZ early in 2016, together with his Texan-wife Jennifer Carruthers, the plan to start the Green Monkey business was hatched in Thailand. The idea was to provide custom product solutions for the New Zealand market as well as carry a number of quality international brands. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking in the famous Redwoods, road riding, hiking, and taking photos. He is also looking after his new son who was born in the Chinese Year of the Monkey and thus will represent the Mascot of Green Monkey Velo.
